Solutions for Leaks at the Confluence of Roof n wa
Have you noticed any traces of running water on your walls? This is one sign that there is a leak in the building connection. This leak often occurs on the side of the wall that is directly adjacent to the neighboring wall. On the side of the wall there is a roof and wall connection which if leaked will result in water flow.
This leak can be fixed in a simple way. One way is to add new gutters or layers under the roof covering. To do this, install the gutters under the roof covering by 10 cm overlapping. Attach the gutter bend to the wall as tightly as possible. After that, on top of the gutters, pour the waterproof cement mixture with a cement:sand:water ratio of 1:2:3. Coat all surfaces of the gutter.
Then, after the cement mixture dries, apply a waterproof layer on the surface of the cement. The waterproof layer used can be in the form of sheet plaster glued to the roof and wall gaps. On top of that layer, reinstall the roof covering.
This simple method will stop leaks that occur at the meeting of the roof and walls. To prevent the same leak from happening again, you have to do waterproof coating periodically. You can do it once a year. When carrying out periodic coating, also check the cement layer. Pay attention to whether there are cracked parts. These cracks can also make the leak happen again.
Good luck fixing the leak!
