Enam Tips Bangun Atap Rumah Bebas Bocor

A leaky roof is a common problem for many people during the rainy season. The causes of roof leaks vary. Roof leaks aren't just caused by holes. They can also be caused by an insufficiently steep roof slope, poorly installed roof tiles, gutter issues, gaps in the roof ridge, or debris on the roof. Don't let these problems add to your stress. The solution is to build a good roof.
Pay Attention to Roof Slope
The roof slope should not be too steep, with a range of 25 to 40 degrees. A suitable roof slope will effectively deflect rainwater blown by strong winds, thus minimizing leaks and wall seepage.
A slope exceeding 40 degrees can cause the roof tiles to sag. If the roof design requires a slope greater than 40 degrees, the tiles should be nailed down or use a type of roof shingle that is resistant to falling.
Use Roof Underlay
Use a roof underlay made of plastic or aluminum foil on the underside of the tiles. This will help water that enters the roof drain towards the gutters. This is usually done after a roof tile breaks.
Routinely Check the Roof Frame
Ensure the roof frame is in good condition. Regularly inspect the ceiling. If you find any wood that is starting to rot, replace it immediately.
Rotten wood can cause roof tiles to fall and leak. Damage to the roof frame also endangers the safety of the homeowner, especially if it is exposed to continuous rain.
Pay Attention to the Roof Ridge
The roof ridge should not be made too high, as it is prone to cracking. You should regularly check this area, especially during the rainy season. Even a small crack, such as 1 cm, can cause a roof leak. If a crack is found, repair it immediately and patch it with mortar mixed with water block. If the crack is large, replace it immediately.
Roof Gutters
Choose a gutter size and shape that suits the flow rate and volume of water. Minimize joints in the gutter, which can increase the potential for damage and leaks. Use the services of an experienced gutter installer. Clean the gutter regularly to prevent debris from accumulating and blocking the water flow.
Coat the Concrete Roof
Ensure the entire surface of the concrete roof is coated with water block. Also, pay attention to the slope, ensuring it slopes toward the existing gutter.
